1. Who we are

Pizza Communications LLC (“Pizza Communications,” “we,” “us,” “our”) operates a family of consumer pizza media and technology properties, including:

pizzatv.com — pizza video and editorial content
pizzaexplorer.com — a global pizzeria discovery guide and map
pizzae.com — account sign-in for all of our properties
pizzavision.com — pizza video and live streaming
pizzarewards.com — customer rewards and savings
pizzacommunity.com — discussion forums for pizzeria operators and pizza enthusiasts
howwasthepizza.com — sharing your pizza experiences
pizzavoice.com — voice-assisted pizza ordering and recorded owner interviews
pizzaregistry.com — the pizzeria database that powers our other properties
pizzacommunications.com — our company site

This policy covers all of them, and any other website we operate that links to it. Some of these are not yet open to the public; this policy applies to them from the day they are.

2. What we collect

2.1 Information you give us

Account information. When you create an account, our identity provider (Auth0) handles sign-in and sends us a unique account identifier, your email address, whether that email has been verified, and your display name or nickname. We store these along with the date you last signed in.

We never see or store your password. If you sign in with Google, we never receive your Google password either.

Pizzeria owner information. If you claim a pizzeria listing, we record which listing you claimed, when, and the review status of that claim. If you complete an owner profile, we store what you enter — which may include a short biography, a profile photo, and a contact phone number.

The owner contact phone number is for our team only and is never displayed publicly.

Listing content. Information you submit about a pizzeria you manage — hours, menu links, photos, and similar operational details.

2.2 Information collected automatically

We track how visitors use our sites, and we track it in detail. This includes pages viewed, links clicked, time spent, referring site, approximate location derived from IP address, device and browser type, and how you move between our properties. We use this to understand what people want and to improve the guide.

Analytics. We use Google Analytics across our properties. Google Analytics sets cookies and collects information about your visit on our behalf. Google’s own handling of that data is governed by Google’s Privacy Policy. You can opt out of Google Analytics entirely using Google’s browser add-on.

Outbound link clicks. When you click through from one of our listings to a pizzeria’s own website or ordering page, we log that the click happened so we can tell operators how much traffic we send them. This particular logging does not use cookies, and IP addresses are stored only in hashed form.

Server logs. Our hosting provider records standard request information, including IP address, browser type, and pages requested, and retains it according to its own schedule.

2.3 Cookies and similar technologies

A cookie is a small file a website stores in your browser. We use two kinds and no others.

Strictly necessary cookies. These make the site work. They keep you signed in, keep your session secure, remember your language, and record your cookie choice so we don’t ask again on every page. These cannot be switched off, because the site cannot function without them, and we do not need your consent to set them.

Google Maps counts as strictly necessary on our guide. The interactive map is how you find and explore pizzerias on pizzaexplorer.com — it is the service, not an optional extra — so it loads straight away and Google may set cookies in connection with it. Google’s handling of that is governed by Google’s Privacy Policy. We are telling you this plainly rather than leaving it out: if we asked your permission before drawing the map, there would be nothing to look at until you answered.

Analytics cookies. These are set by Google Analytics and tell us which pages are visited, how people arrive, and how they move through the guide. They are optional. If you decline them, everything on our sites still works.

We do not use advertising cookies. No ad network, no advertiser, no behavioural profiling, and no advertiser’s tracking pixel runs in our pages. Apart from the map described above, and video players where you choose to press play, no third party sets cookies through our sites. Where we embed video, we use YouTube’s no-cookie player, which does not set tracking cookies unless you start the video.

Your choice. The first time you visit, we ask whether you accept analytics cookies. We do not set them until you say yes, and declining is a single click that is as easy as accepting. You can change your answer at any time from the Cookie settings control on any page, and your choice is remembered across visits. Clearing your browser’s cookies also clears your choice, and we will ask again on your next visit.

We also honour the Global Privacy Control signal. If your browser sends one, we treat it as a refusal of optional cookies without asking you.

2.4 Content you post publicly

On properties where you can post — forums, comments, reviews, and shared pizza experiences — what you post is public. Your display name, profile picture, and the content itself can be seen by anyone, including people who don’t have an account and search engines that index the page. Please don’t put anything in a public post that you wouldn’t want indexed.

Behind the scenes we also record the IP address a post was made from, to deal with spam and abuse. That isn’t shown publicly.

If you delete a post, we remove it from public view. Copies may persist for a period in backups, in moderation records, and in search engine caches we don’t control. If you delete your account, we remove your posts on request — tell us whether you want them deleted or kept and anonymized.

2.5 Information from third parties

Business listing data. Our pizzeria guide includes business information provided by the Google Places API. This is information Google publishes about businesses, not about you.

Automated content analysis. We use Google’s Gemini API to help determine whether a business serves pizza and to summarize what people say about the food. We do not send your account information to this service.

3. Voice calls, recordings, and voice ordering

This section covers pizzavoice.com and any other place we speak with you by phone or voice. Some of what follows describes services that are not open to the public yet; it applies to each of them from the day it is.

3.1 Recorded interviews with pizzeria owners

We record telephone interviews with pizzeria owners and publish them as part of our editorial coverage.

We ask for your permission before we record, and again before we publish. If you say no, we do not record, and nothing is kept.
The interviewer may be a synthetic voice. Some interviews are conducted by an automated system using an artificial voice, not a person. We say so at the start of the call. The conversation is processed by an automated language system in order to hold it.
Where a recording may appear. Published interviews may be posted on our own properties and on third-party video platforms such as YouTube, and may be used in our marketing and in materials shown to investors. We will tell you this before you agree.
What we keep. The audio recording, a written transcript, the phone number called, and the date, time and length of the call.
Changing your mind. Tell us and we will remove a published recording from our own properties and from any platform we control. Copies already downloaded or re-posted by other people are outside our control.
Recording laws differ by state and country. Where the law requires all parties to consent, we obtain that consent before recording.

3.2 Voice ordering

When voice ordering is available and you use it to place an order:

We collect what you need to place the order — the items and options you ask for, the pizzeria you are ordering from, your name, and a phone number to reach you about the order.
The call may be recorded or transcribed so we can process the order correctly and resolve disputes about what was ordered. The recording is processed by an automated language system.
We do not take your card details and we never store them. Payment is handled by the pizzeria’s own payment processor. Card numbers do not pass through us and we cannot see them.
We share your order and the contact details needed to fulfil it with the pizzeria you are ordering from. They handle that information under their own privacy practices.
We keep a record of your orders so you can see your history and so your saved preferences work the next time you order.

3.3 Your saved preferences

If you tell us how you like your pizza, we store those preferences on your account and use them to fill in future orders. They belong to you: you can view, change, or delete them from your account page at any time, and deleting your account deletes them.

4. Advertising

We do not currently show advertising on our properties. When we do, this is how it will work, and we are stating it now so it is on the record before the first ad runs.

We will sell it directly and serve it ourselves. Our advertisers will be companies who buy space from us — food suppliers, equipment makers, and others who want to reach pizza lovers and pizzeria operators. Not an advertising network. We do not use Google AdSense and we will not run programmatic or behavioural ad exchanges.

Advertisers will not track you. Ad images are served from our own servers. Advertisers do not place cookies, pixels, or any other tracking technology in your browser through our sites, and they receive no information about individual visitors. What they get from us is aggregate performance — how many people saw an ad and how many clicked it — with no personal information attached.

Advertisers never receive your account information. Your name, email address, phone number, or the fact that you own a particular pizzeria are never shared with an advertiser.

We do not sell or share your personal information, including as those terms are defined under California law. We do not disclose your browsing activity to anyone for cross-context behavioural advertising.

If we ever change any of this, we will update this policy first.

5. Google user data

This section describes how we handle data obtained through Google APIs. It applies in addition to everything above.

Connecting your Google Business Profile to verify ownership

If you choose to connect your Google Business Profile to your Pizza Communications account, we read the list of business locations you own or manage. We use this for one purpose: to confirm which pizzeria listings on our guide belong to you, so we can grant you access to manage them without a manual verification step.

We call Google’s Business Profile APIs to read the locations associated with your account, and match them against listings already in our guide.
We store the resulting matches and an access token that lets us re-check them.
Connecting your profile does not give us permission to change it. The permission Google shows you covers editing, because Google does not offer a read-only version of it. For verification we only read. We will never edit, create, or delete anything on your Google Business Profile unless you separately ask us to, in writing, as described below.
We do not use Google Business Profile data for advertising, we do not share it with advertisers, and we do not sell it.

You can disconnect at any time, from your account settings on pizzae.com or from your Google account’s third-party access settings. Disconnecting revokes our access and deletes the stored token. Listings you have already been granted management of remain yours unless you ask us to release them.

If you ask us to help maintain your listing

We plan to offer a service in which we help keep a pizzeria’s information — menu details, hours, contact details, address — accurate and current, including on that pizzeria’s Google Business Profile. This service is not running yet, and it will be free to operators when it launches.

Whether it is free or paid, these conditions apply and will not change:

It is never automatic. You have to ask for it, in writing. It never follows from connecting your profile for verification. If you have not asked for it, we do not touch your listing.
We act only on your instructions and only within the scope you agree to.
We do not solicit, request, or incentivize reviews on your behalf, and we do not attempt to influence the reviews or ratings on your listing.
Using the service does not affect your position on PizzaExplorer. Ratings and review content shown on our guide come from Google; we cannot add, remove, or alter a Google review, and no service relationship changes how a pizzeria ranks.
You can end it and revoke our access at any time.

Limited Use. Our use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

To show operators how much traffic our guide sends them
To understand how our sites are used and improve them

7. When we share information

Service providers. Companies that run parts of our service on our behalf — our hosting provider, our identity provider (Auth0), our telephone and voice processing providers, and Google, for the APIs and analytics described above. They may only use the information to provide their service to us.

Pizzerias you order from. The order itself and the contact details needed to fulfil it.

Video platforms. Interviews you have agreed to publish, on platforms such as YouTube.

Legal reasons. If required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Pizza Communications, our users, or the public.

Business transfer. If Pizza Communications is acquired or merges with another company, information may transfer as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your information becomes subject to a different policy.

8. How long we keep information

We keep account and listing information for as long as your account exists. We do not delete it on a schedule — if you want it gone, ask us and we will remove it (see Section 9).

Google Business Profile access tokens are deleted as soon as you disconnect.

Interview recordings are kept indefinitely as published editorial material, unless you ask us to remove them.

Order records and voice-order recordings are kept while your account exists so that your history and preferences work, and are deleted with your account.

Analytics data is retained according to the schedule of the provider described above. Server logs are retained by our hosting provider according to its own schedule, which we do not control.

9. Your choices and rights

You can:

See and correct the information on your account, from your account page
Change your cookie choice from the Cookie settings control on any page
Disconnect your Google Business Profile at any time
Release a pizzeria claim you no longer want
Withdraw permission for an interview recording we have published
View, change, or delete your saved ordering preferences
Opt out of analytics using Google’s opt-out add-on
Delete your account and your information by writing to steve@pizzatv.com

When you ask us to delete your information, we will delete your account, your owner profile, your claims, your saved preferences, and your order history. Business listing information about a pizzeria itself may remain in the guide, because it describes a business rather than a person.

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to our processing of your information, to receive a copy of it in a portable format, and to complain to your national data protection authority. Our legal bases are: performing our contract with you (running your account and your orders), your consent (analytics cookies, and recording and publishing interviews), and our legitimate interests (operating and improving our service, and preventing abuse). Write to steve@pizzatv.com to exercise any of these.

If you are in California, you have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use it, to request deletion or correction, and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. As described in Section 4, we do not sell or share your personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of. Write to us to exercise any of these rights.

If you are in Canada, you may request access to your personal information and challenge its accuracy, and you may complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

We do not charge for any of this and we will respond within the time your law requires.

10. International transfers

We are based in the United States and our servers are located in the United States and Europe. If you use our services from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your country.

11. Security

We protect information with encrypted connections, credentials kept out of source code, and access limited to people who need it. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

12. Children

Our services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, write to us and we will delete it.

13. Automated access to our sites

We operate a crawler identified as PizzaCommunicationsBot/1.0. Details of what it does and how to block it are at pizzacommunications.com/bot.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you directly. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated policy.
